Our goal is not simply to teach you how to learn.

Our goal is to make you an expert learner.

Our Goal - to make you an expert learner - is not modest because if you strive for expertise in Torah, while your behaviors and sense of self must be modest, your שאיפות must be enormous.

Can this really be taught?

We claim that it can. But don't believe us just because we make the claim.

And similarly don't believe your skepticism, a priori.

Make a deal with yourself: Apply what we teach & then decide for yourselves.

And now get ready to start an adventure of your lifetime.

Harav Dovid Leibowitz, zt”l, used to say that the job of a Rebbi is not to feed information, but rather to get inside the Talmid’s head to see how he is perceiving and understanding the information and, when called for, to straighten out his thinking.

Our goal therefore is to teach you how to get into the heads of EVERYONE who learns Gemara well, so that you too can see, hear & feel how the expert is perceiving and understanding the information presented in the Gemara and its commentaries so that you too can begin to approximate his way of learning.

Of course we cannot describe how every gadol thinks in terms of the totality of his derech halimud.

But there are definite templates or checklists of thinking strategies that EVERYONE who learns Gemara well MUST use – and therefore so must he and therefore, lehavdil, so must we. It is these templates and thinking strategies that we will present to you so that you too can master them.

On the assumption of course that you want to become an expert learner.

If you desire to become an excellent and expert Gemara learner, we'll guide you there.

Of course since we can only guide, your successes will be yours alone – always with סייעתה שמיא כמובן! – not ours.

And when you succeed we, and all Yisroel will rejoice with you.

So now, all that is left is for us to do is to guide you – and for you to master and practice what we teach. Master the templates & practice the strategies. Use our teachings and approach the texts with the yirat Shamayim that Torah learning requires (so that it is not merely an intellectual exercise for academics) and you cannot fail.

Remember: If our claim is that we will teach you how the masters think and that you can learn to do what they do to a large degree – then you can't fail to become an infinitely better learner than you were before because you'll be doing the fundamental and many of the advanced kinds of learning that the experts do.
